‘I have a Sun-Pluto conjunction in my natal chart, and most of the time, it's like trying to brew a storm in a teacup. Maybe you have any recipes for mastering this alchemy?’

Thank you for your question Valerie! Let’s talk about it!

And good luck with your own Substack. (here) I can tell you’re a talented wordsmith.

Many people would say:

‘Why? Why try to brew storms in teacups? Isn’t life difficult enough? Just stop it!’

They don’t get it. All they can see is the insignificance of the tea storm. They jump to conclusions: you’re doing it for the sake of being annoying!

As if…

Pluto is raw power. It’s wild, it’s intense like hormonal rage or survival in the jungle. It’s high voltage plugged into your system. You’re a filament, a thin wire trapped within a bulb, current flows through, there is nothing you can do but resist until incandescence. It’s hard!

Maybe you don’t think it’s that hard because it’s your normal? Maybe you don’t want to be a crybaby and you endure stoically. You play the social game the best you can.

They don’t know how you feel. They assume that you are functioning at the same (boring) low level of intensity as they do. At that level, it would be really stupid to waste time trying to brew a storm in a teacup. They may well think you are.

If we were talking about Uranus, the light bulb would be in your head. It would be enough to drive you mad. Enlightenment and madness are close relatives. But it’s not Uranus here. It is Pluto. Your innards are the filament, you are the bulb, your purpose, the purpose of your Sun, is shining.

You’re not radiating pure love and light yet. The electric current in a light bulb is just an imperfect metaphor. The process is not that quick. You may have been sitting on hot coals looking dark for a while. You’re being transformed.

In the meantime, life brings you tea parties with well mannered individuals, and, well, brewing a little storm can only be tempting. How else could you communicate how you feel? It’s understandable. Just not by them.

You’re asking for a little recipe to master the intensity of the Sun-Pluto experience… Pluto is stronger than you. Pluto knows how much courage you’re able to muster. Every so often, it pushes the intensity to just a little bit more than your maximum. Your strength and courage are ruthlessly trained and they grow. This too will pass.

Love may help. I’m not talking about teacup love and light. No need to extend your pinky. Think of children in the storm. (Our world brews many.) Think of vulnerable beings, people or animals. Mastering the intensity of our passions, collectively, is a question of getting heaven or hell on earth.

Sometimes we’re forced to admit that we’re not that strong, not that courageous, not that wise. Being humbled is better than pretending. As I’m writing, I feel sorry for the suffering that I have caused, or could have prevented, if I had been stronger, more courageous and wiser on a number of occasions. Hopefully there are higher powers helping…

You’re trying to brew storms in teacups? I know worse sins. Keep calm when you can. Know yourself. Ask Spirit for help. I don’t know any better tips. You’re being forged. You’re at the right place.
